Malawi is one of the most densely populated countries in Africa with a population of some 12 Million people, half of whom are below the age of 15. Roughly, 85 percent of Malawi’s population lives in rural areas.The country has one of the highest rates of HIV infection in the world and life expectancy at birth presently stands at less than 40 years.
